Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA) reported on the 3rd that Taiwanese star Barbie Hsu, wife of former Clone singer Koo Jun-yeop, passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 48.

Koo appeared on MBC’s "Radio Star" on August 9, 2023, where he recounted the couple’s history. They first met in 1998, when Clone was active in Taiwan, and dated for about a year before parting ways. He recalled reuniting with Barbie Hsu after 20 years, a moment that brought him to tears. “The day we met, the moment we saw each other, we embraced and cried for 30 minutes. Everything flashed by like a montage, and I was overwhelmed,” he said.
“Barbie Hsu still seems like a young girl; when she’s happy, she rushes over and hugs me tightly. I find her incredibly lovable. In that moment of holding her, I thought, ‘Ah, my life is just beginning.”
Koo also expressed his joy in reuniting with Barbie Hsu, recalling their heartfelt embrace and how he proposed marriage. He added, “Because we delayed too long, I will express my love until I die.”
